Don't worry, there's no explicit violence! I'm not even sure how that'd work in Lego anyway.

This strip was originally going to repeat over and over, to show that this is essentially the rest of Prometheus' existence, but that looked boring. It's also untrue. He was eventually set free by Heracles as he fought his way through the underworld. It's almost possible that Zeus planned the entire story, for the sole purpose of winning glory for his future son. Or is that giving him too much credit?

Heracles isn't the only crossover in this myth. Zeus goes on to further punish mortals (although Hesiod's chronology is a bit unclear), by creating Pandora, the first woman, and sending her down to trick Prometheus' brother Epimetheus (literally, "Afterthought") into releasing all the evil things into the world. This is basically Hesiod's way of bashing women as the root of all evil

Finally, in terms of other myths, there's the preceding Theogony, of which this is actually a part. The stories of Prometheus and Pandora are pretty much the first myths to appear in the Theogony which aren't a direct continuation of the creation and Zeus' rise to power. In Greek 'prehistory' then, this story would have been considered fairly important, and it's unsurprising that it was adapted to as many forms as it was - two epic poems, a trilogy of Athenian tragedies, in Aesop's stories and Plato's writings.
